Brainfood Releases New Game
Posted: September 20, 2002
Dallas-based Brainfood, Inc. has released its newest online game, "McKinney Avenue Madness." Brainfood is a technology services company located at McKinney and Allen and they have capitalized on their location.
Recently-completed construction has left McKinney Avenue smooth and clear from Downtown to nearly Lemmon Avenue and drivers' speed has been increasing steadily. Employees and residents in the area felt like they were risking limbs by using the crosswalks to go shopping, to go to lunch or to simply go home and this game plays on that.
"We feel that this has a relevance to anybody that lives or works on McKinney Avenue and that pedestrians' rights are often overlooked by motorists on Dallas streets." comments Ean Schuessler, Technical Director for the Dallas-based company. "We felt that this was a way to let people understand our situation and get a few laughs in the process."
Brainfood developed the game using Macromedia's Flash and the talents of their own in-house art and technology departments to create a game that delivers non-stop fun--to go along with the non-stop traffic.
Players assume the role of a Brainfood employee trying to cross the street to get a coffee or snack or to get to the gym (to work off those coffees and snacks!) The arrow keys are used to navigate the traffic. The challenge comes from the increasing cars, and their increasing speed. The cars actually speed up when the driver sees someone crossing the street!
Brainfood offices have been filled with laughter from even the earliest days of development. Check out the game link at the top of www.brainfood.com and join the Madness!
