Heading to Campus Party

Fri, 22 Jan 2010 06:30:02 -0600

I received news a little while ago that my visa has been approved by the Brasilian consulate so I will be heading to Sao Paulo tomorrow for Campus Party. This enormous event takes place in a conference center filled with thousands of hackers camping out in tents. Apparently the connection speed is on the order of 10 gigabits.

I'll be giving a talk on Open for Business, Open Source for America, a panel discussion with Simon Phipps (http://www.webmink.net) about the future of Open Source and a panel discussion about whether the corporate sponsored community model of Ubuntu has rendered the entirely organic community model of Debian obsolete (oooh, a hot one!) Since I'll have a smoking hot net connection at the show and will be camping there (should be interesting) I'll try to send updates. Stay tuned!
