Well the trip was exceptional. Had a great time, hung out with old friends and met up with new ones. Tuesday was a business excursion, however the weekend and monday were for well deserved fun. Spent some time in Echo Park area with some friends making the most of the local cuisine and culture. My my my... I do notice the tell tale signs of development in old and crusty neighborhoods I like to call my home are growing the same in LA as they are in Dallas. There was an amazing amount of pleasant weather and an amazing sailing excursion from the Manhattan marina south of Marina Del Ray, which a buddy of mine said was a much more pleasant location to launch out from. The boat a 28 foot sailing ship was a blast to ride on and I was even given the helm as Shane the owner and more capable sailor was handling the sails and the rigging. After the great jaunt on the sea, I got a hold of Dave out in Joshua Tree to hang out in the desert for a day or two out at the ranch. He clued me into a ton of cool interesting spots to check out in the desert. There was a great sculpture garden and a desert Jesus park both completely opposite from each other but both similar with the way the elements treated the materials. On the way out to the desert, I was pulled over and given a ticket for not having my head lights on. It being a rental car and just leaving a well lit town meant nothing to this Smokey, he wanted to fill a quota or something, not mad at him since I know something stupid will happen to him as payback, haha! Kidding. Finally on arrival back to Echo Park area, I hauled over to LACMA and checked out some great art exhibits, freaking amazing art museum. Also I met with my client and friend to discuss some work and after had a nice meal and drinks before returning home. Fun and relaxing, I am a bit tired, actually more than when I left, but hey it was well worth it. :)
